INVESTIGATIVE AUDIT

What is an investigative audit?

Investigative audits are primarily about detecting inappropriate behavior and fraud by analyzing documentation, financial data or information obtained from the company's employees, and then identifying inaccuracies with regard to regulations, standards or applicable rules.
An additional result of such audit may be a report on the gaps in the internal control system that allowed the situation to take place and a proposal for improvements.
